Some other pictures

Since my life is currently trying to organize itself for it's next big step the drawing and the animation have been pushed slightly to the side for the past month, I've still been doodling around in Photoshop a lot but I haven't had a whole lot of time to do any more in depth projects.

So for the sake of throwing something up I'll put up some pics I've done outside Melon and Post (and one more Melon and Post) that Im proud of, pics that are more fully rendered then the sketchy look of the M&Ps.

Most of these images did not take me more then about 6 hours worth of work, with frequent breaks while i was working, and I've gotten significantly faster at it since I started. The oldest picture on here, the Thesis one, took me several days to polish off, while the most recent, the "Headcrab Melon and Post" took about 4 hours at most and I think turned out pretty well.

On the other end of the spectrum is the tired 5 minutes in Photoshop drawings

Melon and First Post

So this marks the first post of an entirely new blog, designed to have less words and be entirely art based, I'll keep the wordy rants and stories back in the old blog.

To start things off with a bang, I'll post something I've been doing over the past month or so. A series of very loose drawings of two characters I've created based off nicknames between a friend and myself.

Melon & Post

A tad bit of the personality of the two comes through, but in essence the two exist essentially as a way to illustrate obscure in jokes that no one understands but me and the other friend they are based on. It gives me a chance to not be really tied down to anything and be completely random. The universe of these two is basically limitless despite one being bolted down to the ground and the other a fruit that was inexplicably left next to it.

As you can see they make less and less sense the more I draw, but that's what makes it fun.

And lastly, "Melon" recently went to a party and proceeded to tell everyone I don't know about me, and this is pretty much how I felt about that. Version 1, and alternate version with more bad puns. 

I might do something more with the characters later in a new medium, but for now its a simple creative outlet.
